Strategically located in one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing industrial markets, the new facility strengthens Vertiv's ability to support its customers through regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities. Furthermore, the plant benefits from excellent regional connectivity and its proximity to major technology and customer hubs.
“Asia remains one of the fastest-growing regions for investment in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, and expanding our manufacturing capacity in Malaysia is aimed at further strengthening our ability to serve customers with quality, speed, scalability, and resilience,” said Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “This facility represents another important step in our capacity planning and deployment strategy as we continue to expand our manufacturing capabilities both regionally and globally.”.
Albertazzi added: “As computing needs evolve through the various generations of AI infrastructure, customers need partners capable of providing large-scale power, cooling, and infrastructure solutions. The Johor plant strengthens our ability to help customers deploy critical digital infrastructure more efficiently, while supporting long-term growth across Asia.”
Manufacturing and testing facilities
The Johor facility offers comprehensive manufacturing, assembly, and full-scale witness testing capabilities for advanced cooling and power infrastructure. This enables Vertiv to deliver high-density solutions with validated performance, helping to reduce deployment risk and accelerate time to market for customers in enterprise, cloud, and colocation environments. The facility is expected to create hundreds of skilled jobs in the region when it reaches full operation in 2027. Manufacturing includes large-scale thermal, power, and infrastructure management solutions for AI applications and traditional environments, such as: Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU refrigerant distribution units for liquid cooling applications and rear door heat exchangers for high-density racks; and prefabricated power solutions with integrated modular infrastructure, such as the Vertiv™ Power Module and Vertiv™ Power Skid, capable of accelerating electrical system deployment by up to 50% compared to traditional methods. Vertiv ™ SmartRun is a prefabricated, integrated, overhead infrastructure system for cleanrooms, combining high-density busways, liquid cooling piping, network cabling, and containment systems into a unified solution, reducing on-site installation times by up to 85% compared to conventional methods. A dedicated testing environment is designed to validate liquid cooling solutions and integrated power systems under conditions equivalent to those at the customer's site before deployment, including testing of CDUs across the entire capacity range, and simultaneous testing of multiple modules and power skids.
