NESAS is a cybersecurity assessment mechanism that provides an assurance framework to facilitate improved security levels in the mobile industry. Its assessment, which is voluntary for manufacturers, focuses on two key aspects: vendor development processes and the product lifecycle, and network equipment security. NESAS conducts 20 assessment categories, defining the security requirements and assessment framework for 5G product development and lifecycle processes.
The results of the final report show that ZTE's development and lifecycle processes fully comply with the security requirements defined in GSMA NESAS specifications FS.13 and FS.16, and have been applied in practice, demonstrating that they perfectly meet the requirements of the assessment. ZTE's High-Performance Product Development (HPPD) process has therefore successfully passed the audit.
In this way, ZTE 5G NR products establish a solid foundation for accelerating large-scale commercial deployments of 5G networks, while ZTE 5GC is a fully converged core network solution that meets the full access requirements of fixed 2G/3G/4G/5G networks.
