The company is fully implementing automation, enabling it to supply cable assemblies at competitive prices. Among other things, it has invested in a fully automated cable assembly system. For example, MiniBridge cable connectors with a 1.27 mm pitch are available fully assembled with the corresponding number of pins (2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12). High-temperature, halogen-free PVC cables and the corresponding MiniBridge connectors are kept in stock to shorten lead times.
Up to 5,000 cable connectors can be assembled and tested per shift using the fully automated system. The high-performance system processes cables from 41 to 800 mm in length. Each necessary assembly step is performed automatically in a matter of seconds, including printing flexible cables, cutting to the required length, and termination. The process is monitored to ensure quality. The assembled cables then undergo an electrical test with 1 A and an insulation voltage of 400 V as standard to verify the connection (continuity) and insulation.
To meet the stringent requirements of railways, roads, and security systems, the test can be carried out at up to 2 A and 1500 V. After assembly, a visual inspection is performed using a camera system, which examines the position of the termination contacts according to predefined criteria. In addition to custom-made versions, assembled PVC cables are also available in standard lengths of 100, 200, and 300 mm.
