The precise 50G PON prototype is characterized by its ultra-wideband, low latency, and low jitter, enabling it to deliver ultra-high-bandwidth access for homes and businesses, support mobile xHaul, and deploy a reliable network for campuses.

In terms of bandwidth, the prototype supports up to 50 Gbps per wavelength, which is five times faster than 10G PON technology. The prototype allows for precise bandwidth control and can deliver access speeds ranging from 2 Mbps to 10 Gbps.

Regarding latency, the prototype innovatively optimizes the PON technology's time slots to minimize unnecessary overloading, thus reducing latency in a 10 km transmission from 1.5-2.5 ms to less than 200 µs.

Regarding jitter, the prototype employs time-sensitive scheduling technology to reduce jitter levels from milliseconds to nanoseconds, enabling users to expand application scenarios, increase broadband quality, improve service quality, and enhance experiences.

In addition, ZTE has submitted more than thirty 50G PON standard proposals, including those related to technologies such as physical layer parameters, low latency and Forward Error Correction (FEC), already adopted by standardization organizations.
