Correos, Spain's postal service, is firmly committed to the mobility of its delivery personnel. With 28,000 mail carriers, this project aims to enhance the information available to its units and centers, thereby improving delivery and increasing the quality of handling registered mail. For this reason, Correos is investing heavily in Motorola Solutions' MC75 terminals and centrally managed RFS7000 and AP5131 wireless network infrastructure, proven effective and robust for the daily tasks these carriers perform.

The MC75 is a well-known enterprise-class digital terminal. It offers a robust design and more features and options than any other in its class, including 3.5G and WLAN connectivity options that enable high-speed data transmission, as well as data capture via scanner and on-screen (digital signatures and receiver information), all with a high degree of reliability and proven robustness.

The state-of-the-art wireless network infrastructure is based on a centralized management system, which includes an RFS7000 cluster controller as well as AP5131 access points that offer flexible wireless access for the 802.11 a/b/g standards for data transmission in the unlicensed 2.4 and 2.5 GHz frequencies, which really helps delivery personnel to fulfill their obligations since they have secure access to the Internet and corporate networks through desktop computers, laptops and mobile terminals.
