Today, Integrated Systems Events released the following statement:

We have been closely monitoring conditions in Europe since the beginning of this year and have worked diligently on your behalf to balance health and safety concerns with the need for trade and face-to-face interaction. These two factors have shifted in weight throughout the year, and while we have felt confident and hopeful about delivering this event in February, we have concluded that the best course of action for all of us is to postpone the show to June 1-4, 2021.

“The health and safety of our team, exhibiting companies, industry partners, and attendees is our number one priority,” said Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events. “Given the understandable concerns of all our stakeholders regarding the coronavirus, and the uncertainty surrounding travel restrictions and country lockdowns, we have concluded that it is not prudent to maintain our original schedule of an in-person trade show in February 2021.”

“From our many conversations, it’s clear the industry is eager to get back to doing business face-to-face, and we are committed to delivering a compelling and safe in-person ISE in 2021. We feel that moving the event to June gives the industry time to adapt and restore equilibrium. We look forward to welcoming the global AV community to our new home in Barcelona.”

Fira de Barcelona President Pau Relat commented: “At Fira de Barcelona, we greatly appreciate ISE’s strong commitment to Barcelona, and in such challenging times, the decision to postpone the event by a few months to ensure the best possible edition with the highest international participation of companies and visitors will be very positive for both attendees and the city. We will continue working together to ensure that such an important event as ISE has a fantastic first edition at its new Barcelona venue in 2021.”

David Labuskes, CEO of AVIXA, commented, “AVIXA is proud to partner with CEDIA in delivering ISE to the audiovisual industry each year. We fully support ISE’s decision to postpone the first show in Barcelona until June 2021. This is no small undertaking and has thousands of moving parts, but by making this decision, ISE reaffirms its commitment to the health of everyone involved in these events, from taxi drivers to exhibit teams. And all those same people will be even more committed to being part of the extravaganza that ISE promises to be.”

Tabatha O’Connor, CEO of CEDIA, added, “We are eager to come together as a community once again at ISE 2021. The decision to postpone was made after careful and thorough consideration. We know that moving the show to June will provide the necessary time and resources to ensure the show is safe to attend and can deliver the exceptional experience for which ISE is known, fostering opportunities to learn, discover, and be inspired by the technology that is driving our industry.”
