Mike Blackman, CEO of Integrated Systems Events, sees it this way: “The difficult experience of the last nine months has highlighted more than ever the importance of ISE to the global AV and systems integration business. Many exhibitors and attendees firmly believe that the new edition will be the engine for our industry's recovery. People come to ISE looking for inspiration, new suppliers, to catch up on the latest industry developments, to forge lasting relationships, and to take advantage of the training opportunities the show offers. ISE 2021 will be somewhat different from previous editions, but all those opportunities will still be there, and we can't wait to reconnect with you all.”.

ISE 2021 inaugurates the trade show's new hybrid format, which this year will blend in-person activities at Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via, with a dynamic digital program. The goal is to offer a rewarding experience to all visitors, whether they are physically present in Barcelona or online, combining live stages, meeting rooms, keynote speeches, panel discussions, one-on-one meetings, and highlights from the RISE Spotlight program.

Together with its co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA, ISE has worked closely with the Barcelona City Council, Fira de Barcelona, and all the relevant authorities, which has led to Fira de Barcelona being awarded the 'Safe Travels' stamp by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). This recognition is due to the health and safety protocols implemented by the institution to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. These protocols were developed in conjunction with the risk management consultancy Aon and the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. For visitors, ISE has published A Guide to Safe Visiting, which details the established health guidelines. The guide can be found on the ISE website.
