“Rapid densification is a reality for FTTH/B operators,” says Michael Zammit, vice president and general manager of connectivity solutions at Go! Foton. “The need for efficient deployment of new, high-density installations compatible with existing equipment has never been greater. From traditional service providers to cloud data centers, operators of densified optical networks require versatile connectivity solutions geared toward rapid, simple, and cost-effective field deployment.”.

It continues: “To meet the challenges of today’s growing demand for high-speed symmetrical bandwidth, as well as the latency and reliability requirements of next-generation applications, intelligent fiber optic management solutions are needed that can simultaneously accommodate current needs and enable a seamless evolution to the networks of tomorrow.”

Go! Foton's message to the market came shortly after the FTTH Council released its Fibre Market Overview 2020. The report highlighted France, Italy, and Spain as having the largest increases in the number of approved homes, while confirming that FTTH/B coverage in Europe extends to almost half of all homes.

Kees de Waard, president of the FTTH Council Europe, highlighted the ambitions of the Gigabit connected society in Europe and commented that "FTTH/B networks... are the only infrastructure ready for the future.".
