The joint trials are the first to demonstrate a range of super-fast broadband speeds of 1 Gbps successfully achieved on a Fixed Wireless network. The trial reached a peak download speed of 1 Gbps, and separate device trials recorded speeds of 400/55 Mbps, 250/50 Mbps, and 100/40 Mbps. These results outlined the potential path for nbn's Fixed Wireless network, which will be offered to the regional market in 2018 as a fully managed commercial product called 100 Fixed Wireless. This product will utilize Ericsson networking technology and the latest generation of Wireless Network Termination Devices (WNTDs) designed by NetComm Wireless. 

The fixed wireless network differs from a mobile network in that it establishes a direct connection between the on-premises WNTD and Ericsson's infrastructure to enhance capacity and deliver consistent speed and broadband performance, even during peak data demand. The
nbn™ Fixed Wireless network has the capacity to support future digital demands across Australia by leveraging Ericsson's infrastructure, NetComm Wireless WNTDs, and Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 LTE modems to optimize transmission bandwidth and end-user experience quality as demand for higher-speed services continues to grow.

The nbn™ Fixed Wireless network delivers targeted capacity to installations located within precise coverage areas, and Ericsson's networking technology and NetComm Wireless WNTD devices provide performance assurance to ensure guaranteed capacity, promised bandwidth, network-level diagnostics, quality of service, and durability in harsh environments.
Specifically designed to maximize cell throughput and increase spectral efficiency, the NetComm Wireless WNTD device integrates a high-gain directional panel antenna employing advanced MIMO technology. The devices feature advanced carrier aggregation capabilities to increase overall transmission bandwidth and network capacity. The NetComm Wireless indoor unit is designed to power the WNTD device via Ethernet and provide a high-speed broadband connection to the installation.
