Nokia's Cloud Packet Core, Equipment Identity Register, and Mediation solutions will be deployed at various locations in Spain. Nokia's device-based gateways provide a cost-effective, scalable, and high-performance foundation for DIGI's growing mobile operations. This will ensure a minimal footprint, high bandwidth with low latency, and maximize efficiency.

Catalin Neagoe, Deputy General Manager of DIGI Spain, stated: “Our collaboration with Nokia, one of Europe’s leading technology providers, will allow us to deploy 5G services quickly and efficiently, while maintaining a cost-effective and reliable network. The flexibility of Nokia’s Cloud Packet Core solutions allows us to optimize our network deployment and reduce operational complexity, delivering high-quality mobile services to our customers throughout Spain.”

Néstor González, Nokia's Market Director for the Iberian region and DIGI Group, added: “As the leading core network provider, Nokia gives DIGI Spain the scalability, speed, and reliability needed to meet the growing demand for data, while maintaining a competitive edge in the Spanish market. By leveraging our advanced Cloud Mobile Gateway technology, DIGI can ensure a solid foundation for future 5G growth.”

The project will continue until 2027, supporting DIGI's expansion as Spain's fourth mobile network operator. The rollout aligns with DIGI's long-term strategy to build a robust and independent mobile infrastructure while maintaining interoperability with existing networks.
