With its addition, the alliance expands its reach in the field of critical infrastructure, incorporating the experience of a company with a solid track record in protecting strategic sectors such as banking, energy, transport, public administration and defense. 

Founded in 2026 by European manufacturers devolo, FRITZ!, LANCOM, and TDT, SAFENet is one of the continent's first industrial coalitions to place network technology at the heart of the debate on European digital sovereignty. The initiative is based on a clear premise: virtually all European digital communications depend on network equipment, and therefore, the ability to design, manufacture, and control this technology is essential to ensuring the continent's security. 

The creation of SAFENet comes at a time when the European Union is reinforcing its strategy for resilience and technological autonomy. Initiatives such as the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber ​​Resilience Act (CRA) demonstrate a firm commitment to strengthening cybersecurity and the resilience of critical infrastructure, while Europe advances in a strategic debate on the need to bolster its industrial and technological capabilities. The question is no longer just how to protect digital infrastructure, but also who designs and develops the technology on which it is based. 

With this objective in mind, the addition of Teldat strengthens the alliance's reach in a previously underrepresented area: critical infrastructure. Sectors such as banking, energy, transportation, public administration, and defense face some of the greatest systemic risks in the event of a disruption to digital services, an environment in which the Spanish company has accumulated more than four decades of experience. 

Since 1985, Teldat has designed and developed its own technology in Spain. It currently operates the largest SD-WAN network in Europe, with over 12,000 nodes for the Regional Government of Andalusia; it serves 90% of the Spanish banking sector and is the only manufacturer with 5G certification from the country's three major operators.
