Hibernia Express will initially launch with a transmission capacity of 100 Gbps using the SLTE C100 TE SubCom platform. It will be a 6-pair submarine cable, with some fibers optimized for lower latency and others optimized for a 100x100 Gbps design capacity. The total cable cross-sectional design capacity will exceed 53 Tbps.

The 5GMED project aims to provide a sustainable 5G deployment model for the future of mobility along the Mediterranean Corridor between the French and Spanish borders. It has a total investment of €16 million, 75% of which is funded by the European Commission.
