oneM2M is the global standards body for M2M and IoT, with over 200 member organizations, including global standards bodies and companies from IT, telecommunications, and other sectors. With 5G on the horizon and the prolific growth of IoT connectivity, oneM2M certification is critical for standardizing converged technologies across multiple industries, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and security.
GCF's collaboration with TTA (one of the founding partners of oneM2M, responsible for global testing to help drive certification of oneM2M standards) has been progressing steadily to leverage GCF's proven processes to develop certification requirements and produce oneM2M certification specifications. Today's announcement marks the culmination of this partnership: a global certification offering for anyone involved in the development of M2M and IoT.
“The launch of our global oneM2M certification program today means that M2M device manufacturers will have access to a simplified interface for all their certification requirements,” said Lars Nielsen, CEO and Managing Director of the Global Certification Forum. “Together with our 5G certification program, we can now provide a suite of certification solutions for the smart connectivity space that will ensure the sustained success of IoT deployment as it progresses.”.
"The exponential growth of the M2M and IoT market can only succeed with standardization, which is why we work with partners like GCF and TTA," says Roland Hechwartner, Chair of the Technical Plenary at oneM2M. "The availability of this GCF certification program means a guarantee of seamless operability for developers creating applications with data from multiple different sources or deploying devices that use a wide range of communication technologies.".
