The ME7873L, the world's first GCF-validated RF test platform, is used to test the RF TRX characteristics and performance of LTE terminals to meet 3GPP requirements. With PTCRB certification, the ME7873LA now also supports the 3DL CA tests defined in 3GPP Release 10 for LTE-Advanced terminal support operating in North American frequency bands.

North American LTE-Advanced terminals must be objectively tested using certified PTCRB-RF conformance testing systems to ensure terminal quality meets 3GPP standards. This will have future implications for European chipset suppliers that provide these North American operators.

With the PTCRB certification for 3DL CA, the ME7873LA will help reduce the time to market (TTM) for new products using 3DL CA services, which are expected to begin in North America in 2015.
