This scheme, developed under the Cybersecurity Act, aims to raise the level of cybersecurity for ICT products, services, and processes in the EU market. Specifically, it allows suppliers in the sector who wish to demonstrate the security of their ICT products, such as technological components (chips, smart cards), hardware, and software, to undergo a common EU assessment process for product certification.

In order to facilitate the start of the evaluation processes for Spanish industry under the new scheme as soon as possible, ENAC has developed the corresponding accreditation scheme and is ready to evaluate certification bodies that wish to operate under the EUCC, and has therefore begun to carry out the first evaluations of applicant entities.
