The new developments represent improvements across all their wholesale product lines, with new products but also added value in each of them.
In the mobile telephony sector, new services of particular interest to SMEs and professionals are emerging, such as short codes, landline on mobile, and dual ring. Aire Networks' technological platform for audiovisual content distribution, PERSEO TV, arrives with significant interface and development updates, including the integration of Verimatrix's VCAS solution to secure its content, and Ion Player, a multi-device mobile app with top-tier film, series, and linear television content, similar to that offered by Movistar. In fixed-line telephony, a new billing model based on minute bundles is officially launched, allowing operators to choose their preferred billing method and take advantage of savings based on the volume of minutes consumed. New synergies between fixed and mobile telephony, combined with the new television platform and existing circuit offerings, reinforce the operator's quadruple play profile.
New telephony
Aire Networks' fixed-line telephony has undergone a profound transformation following the implementation of Hermes and Apolo, two developments carried out in-house that have brought the incident rate to near zero, as well as introducing new billing methods for fixed-line telephony through minute bundles. Hermes is the new telephony management system, and Apolo is its intelligent router. Together, they will allow the company to offer new value-added services such as simplifying the number portability process, and creating attractive service packages for businesses with features like outbound 800 and 900 number identification and hybrid numbers for fixed lines and fax.
“Now more than ever, we are establishing synergies between the developments in fixed IP telephony and mobile telephony at Aire Networks. We have begun a new stage, and what we are presenting at AOTEC 2018 is just the tip of the iceberg,” explains Joan Aniorte, telephony coordinator at Aire Networks.
These are new services of particular interest to SMEs and businesses in general, such as the fixed-line-on-mobile service, which allows a company to use its fixed-line number as an outgoing number from its mobile device. Also included is the dual-ring service, which allows multiple mobile devices to simultaneously receive the same call, and call transfer between mobile devices.
According to Sergio Fernández, developer of HERMES, “these services are compatible with each other thanks to HERMES and APOLO, our new management system and its smart router. This means that a company mobile phone can make calls using company landline identification, and the call can ring simultaneously on multiple mobile phones. If the person answering wants to transfer the call to another mobile phone, they can easily do so between lines with assigned short numbers. This is an example of the new landscape in which Aire Networks' fixed-line telephony is currently operating.”.
PERSEO TV Platform
PERSEO TV Technological Platform is the result of over five years of development by Aire Networks' R&D engineering team. This proven and easily integrated platform for heterogeneous operator environments optimizes total cost of ownership and maximizes revenue per subscriber. With it, Aire Networks is launching a single platform for IPTV, OTT, and hybrid services in the national and international markets just months before its international launch in the Netherlands, coinciding with the upcoming IBC trade show. This multi-service delivery platform provides interactive television services for IPTV, OTT, DVB, and hybrid services for internet, telecommunications, and cable providers. It enables them to interact with end users anytime, anywhere through mobile applications, offering a truly interactive TV experience. This, combined with social features, is revolutionizing the way television is viewed.
In the words of Raúl Aledo, CEO of Aire Networks, “Aire emerged 17 years ago with a clear objective: to offer its clients the necessary tools to lead the local market. Today, this objective is more alive than ever, and proof of this is the PERSEO technological platform for the distribution of audiovisual content, which places local telecommunications service providers on the playing field of the new television.”.
This is a state-of-the-art television broadcasting medium that offers audiovisual services via IPTV with the PERSEO TV HOME Set Top Box and the PERSEO TV multi-device OTT software available on Google Play, App Store, Web and native applications for Samsung, LG and Android televisions.
“Perseo is an end-to-end solution that provides operators and audiovisual service providers with everything they need to offer television content with state-of-the-art standards and features, improving the customer experience, reducing costs, and maximizing profits thanks to its user-friendly interface, customization options, and administration panels. We have created such a powerful platform that the customer decides how far they want to go,” says Manu Monserrate, R&D Director at Aire Networks.
The platform also features cutting-edge encryption systems. Aire Networks has implemented Verimatrix's VCAS solution in the PERSEO TV Platform. Verimatrix is a provider of OTT service security with digital rights management and forensic watermarking for its TV Everywhere service, available on web devices, tablets, and smartphones, as well as on televisions with Android® TV set-top boxes (STBs).
“Content protection is a fundamental need for Perseo TV, but we must also be agile to adapt to changing market demands. It is essential that we invest in a security framework that keeps pace with our constant development,” commented Raúl Armero, Marketing Director of Aire Networks, who added, “Verimatrix offers a simple yet comprehensive solution that is flexible and has excellent support. We are confident that the VCAS framework will continue to meet our security needs as Perseo TV continues to grow in services and the number of connected devices.”
Ion Player will be available through Google Play and the App Store. Aire Networks will use it to distribute, among other things, content from Movistar's offerings, following the recent content agreement signed between the two companies. The new multi-device platform, with adaptive video, gesture control, and cutting-edge features, will provide access to audiovisual content for a potential market of more than four and a half million subscribers. Aire Networks and Movistar have reached a new agreement that will add even more value to the operator's Quadruple Play profile, just one year after the company transitioned from a Service Provider MVNO to a Full MVNO with Movistar coverage.
“With this new agreement, our collaboration with Telefónica is now comprehensive. Telefónica has been an exceptional partner in data circuits and fixed and mobile telephony. Having Movistar on board in audiovisual services as well, given our history together, guarantees quality and service for Aire, and we have no doubt that our customers will be delighted to enjoy top-tier programming with dynamic and varied content, and above all, cutting-edge programming,” explains José Pablo Gil, Product Manager of Ion Player.
