The Overlight range for ICT-2 comprises two sets of references. First, references 237508 and 237509, which are CWDM optical transmitters for satellite and terrestrial use, specifically designed for installations carried out according to the ICT-2 Regulation. They receive one polarity and one band from each of the two satellites in the installation, as well as the terrestrial signal, multiplex them, and send them to up to 64 users through a single fiber output in the 1550nm window, with 9dBm of optical power.
Thanks to its optimized electronic performance and low losses, it's possible to reduce the number of amplifiers required and simplify deployment in shared installations, while preserving signal quality from start to finish. Furthermore, it's perfectly suited for use in GPON installations.
The range is complemented by ref. 237529, which is an Overlight optical satellite and terrestrial receiver compliant with the ICT-2 regulations. This device is capable of capturing combined optical TV signals (1200...1600nm) via its fiber optic input, subsequently processing and recovering the original terrestrial and satellite TV signals, which it then sends through its two coaxial outputs: DTT+FI1 – DTT+FI2, corresponding to the two satellite downleads required by the ICT-2 regulations.
There are several factors that make the new Overlight modules for ICT-2 stand out.
They are compatible with all types of FTTx installations,
distributing TV over a single optical fiber, thus reducing installation costs and materials. They offer
low losses and a high splitting ratio, even over long distances.
They allow for an increase in the number of users to a maximum of 512 with optical amplification, while maintaining signal quality at all times.
