“This announcement is a clear example of how effective development can be within small, dedicated teams,” says Dimitri Osler, Founder and CTO of Wildix. “As with WebRTC, we have identified significant potential in this technology and are proud to be the first to create it,” he adds.
While the headsets will go on sale in early 2024, developers have access to software development kits that allow them to deliver applications before the product launch date. The solution is compatible with both Wildix's original Collaboration platform for business communication, which saves up to 25% of the time spent on daily operations, and its latest solution for lead management and sales growth, x-bees.
“Currently, this innovative technology allows us to see those in front of us through webcams with a virtual room background. However, we could eventually develop it further into a complete virtual room setup, making it even easier to create a truly effective hybrid work solution,” explains Elena Kornilova, Product Marketing Manager at Wildix. “Today, the solution focuses primarily on providing the interface as a front-facing display, but there are plans to offer many more features,” she adds.
The development possibilities could be extremely attractive for companies, as office space would no longer be needed and people could attend a virtual office from anywhere. “It could also be very useful for multiple professions, from doctors and therapists to mediators, allowing for customized rooms that go far beyond what a simple Zoom or Teams call can offer, for example,” concludes Emiliano Tomasoni, CMO of Wildix.
“As a result of the pandemic, our environment, our routines, and our work have changed. In Spain, remote work has brought advantages such as time savings on commuting, improved workspaces, more agile meetings, and increased productivity,” says Daniel Asensio, Country Manager of Wildix. “Virtual reality is revolutionizing teamwork: it fosters creative collaboration, makes meetings more immersive, and motivates people to learn. The use of virtual reality headsets for job training and continuous development also helps companies train their employees on the tools they will be using regularly in their work in the near future,” he concludes.
This support is now available for all Wildix tools.
