The Wireless Bolt has an IP67 rating and a range of 100 meters. It can communicate with devices using Ethernet, Serial (RS232/485), or CAN. It always uses the same connector (2x9-pin; 3.5mm Plug Connector) for both power and communication.
The Anybus Wireless Bolt is a logical extension of the well-known Anybus Wireless Bridge product line.
Key features of these products include powerful hardware, processors, and firmware for full compliance with Ethernet TCP/IP protocols.
Among its applications we can find:
Configuring a machine wirelessly:
Anybus Wireless Bolt allows you to configure any machine over a wireless network. You can access the machine wirelessly and communicate with its fieldbus, whether it's Ethernet, RS232/485, or a CAN interface.
Connect to a field device,
for example an AGV (automated guided vehicle). Ideal in hazardous areas.
Eliminate costly HMIs (access via laptop, tablet, or phone).
This implements the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) concept, meaning that an expensive HMI is no longer necessary, and with a range of up to 100m, you can use your own phone, tablet, or laptop to access…
You can create your own automatic diagnostic application in order to reduce machine downtime.
Replaces cables.
Creates a wireless link over Bluetooth or WLAN instead of using RS232/485, CAN, Profinet, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, or TCP/UDP cables. Ideal for moving machinery.
Data acquisition by connecting to the cloud service of your choice.
Real-time communication for analysis and reports that can be integrated into SCADA systems, without interfering with the direct operation of the machine.
Bluetooth or WLAN/WiFi?
All versions of the Wireless Bolt support wireless communication via Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy or WLAN/WiFi.
However, if you need to transfer large amounts of data, choose WLAN. If a robust and stable connection is your priority, choose Bluetooth.
Configuration:
The Anybus Wireless Bolt can be easily configured via the product's integrated web pages. It can also be configured by sending AT commands or using Easy Config modes.
Installation:
The Anybus Wireless Bolt has a diameter of 50.5 mm (M50). The casing of the Anybus Wireless Bolt is mounted externally and has an IP67 rating. The lower part is installed inside the machine.
The screw is 70 mm in diameter and 70 mm high (95 mm including the connector). It weighs only 81 grams and has an operating temperature range of -40 to +65 °C. It features IP67 protection on the exposed portion and IP21 protection for the portion inside the host device. The housing is made of PBT/glass-reinforced PBT/PC-ABS plastic.
Its range is 100 meters, and the antenna is internal.
Other features include:
Output: WLAN 16 dBm, Bluetooth 10 dBm, Bluetooth Low Energy 7 dBm;
Power supply: 9-30 VDC (-5% to +20%), Cranking 12V (ISO 7637-2:2011 pulse 4); Reverse polarity protection;
and ETSI R&TTE certification for Europe.
