Therefore, users can use the same Mifare access control card to open their locker in the changing room. This system allows you to know, for example, if a user unlocked their locker before leaving the facility; the battery level of each locker; or program the automatic opening of all lockers at a specific time.
Kimaldi has long offered a locker control system using NdCAN electronics and CAN communication, which is used in several leading installations. Now, with the new locker locks, everything is much easier and more economical. The locker locks include everything necessary for locker control, and the installation cost is significantly reduced, as these battery-powered, self-contained locks eliminate the need for wiring.
Locker locks can operate in either freely assignable mode (the user chooses an available locker and uses it) or with predefined assignment.
Locker locks use a Mifare card, wristband, or tag, allowing for the implementation of a virtual Mifare network to integrate locker management with access control management. The same access control card can be used to control the locker and also enables value-added features.
Some of these features, which offer significant advantages for both facility managers and users, include:
- Centralized monitoring of battery status from the management software
- Facilitating the implementation of security and operational protocols, with the option to require locker release before leaving the facility
- Automatic opening of lockers at a defined time for maintenance and security purposes
- Information terminal to remind users which locker contains their belongings.
Being controlled by a Mifare card opens up a wide range of functionalities, as there is free space in the card's memory for it to be used as a wallet card with a balance of bonuses to pay for vending machines and other services of the facility.
