PIMMW82119AwebThe new options offer wireless network engineers and field technicians the first battery-powered handheld analyzers that can perform accurate PIM measurements at the “top of the tower” in the LTE 800 MHz and UMTS 2100 MHz bands, as well as in the LTE 2600 MHz band.

The new options have been specially developed to cover the main bands planned for LTE network deployment and can help ensure that LTE networks do not experience the reduced data processing speeds caused by PIM interference. Combined with its battery power, small size, and ability to perform 40W PIM testing, these new options make the PIM Master MW82119A particularly well-suited for the deployment, installation, and maintenance of LTE networks using remote radio heads (RRHs) atop towers. The PIM Master MW82119A can also be used to measure PIM in traditional base transceiver stations (BTSs) and distributed antenna systems (DAS).

The three new frequency options expand the PIM Master MW82119A family to nine analyzers. Six other models are available covering the main frequency ranges, including the upper and lower 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz, and 1900/2100 MHz bands. All PIM Master MW82119A analyzers incorporate Distance-to-PIM (DTP) technology, which allows BTS installers, maintenance contractors, and wireless service provider field technicians to identify PIM problems, whether they are on the tower or outside the radiating system. The analyzers' ability to perform 40W testing enables the PIM Master MW82119A to pinpoint faults that conventional 20W testing solutions might miss, such as intermittent and power-sensitive PIM problems.

Like all Anritsu portable test solutions, the PIM Master MW82119A is designed to withstand the test conditions, such as transport shocks, vibration, and adverse weather associated with cell deployment, installation, and maintenance. Testing is simplified by the analyzer's ability to save and recall test configurations for standardized testing, and boundary lines can be set to establish visual and/or audible pass/fail criteria. Anritsu's Line Sweep Tools can be used to manage measurements with the PIM Master MW82119A and generate reports that combine VSWR and PIM data into a single, unified report for the entire facility. PIM measurements can be tagged with GPS location when the analyzers include the GPS option.
