The generator offers low phase noise, residual FM, and response to signal spuriousness. An external reference can be used if greater accuracy or synchronization is required. Compensation level tables can be loaded to calibrate a complete test setup.

The TGR6000 is designed for CW signal applications and does not include any modulation capabilities. However, it does include a sweep system that covers the entire frequency range and incorporates a sophisticated sweep step or list system that covers both frequency and amplitude.

In step sweeping, the frequency and/or amplitude are defined between two fixed points using up to 1000 steps, which can have a fixed time period or a trigger interval. The steps can be linear or logarithmic, ascending or descending. In the step list, the frequency and amplitude points are defined in a table, and any sweep pattern can be used.

The equipment incorporates the ability to remotely control via RS232, USB and LAN (Ethernet) interfaces as standard and GPIB as an option.

The TGR6000 has a 2U high half rack enclosure form factor with LCD display, keypad and rotary knob for quick control.
