The 4240 series is offered as a single-channel (4241) or dual-channel (4242) instrument. Both meters feature an integrated calibrator that provides a highly stable 50 MHz reference signal and a calibration power range from
-60 dBm to 20 dBm. The built-in calibrator allows for sensor calibrations just before measurement, ensuring the highest measurement accuracy. Power measurements are displayed with a five-digit resolution or as a bar graph.
The 4240 series allows RF power measurements from -70dBm to 44dBm with a maximum dynamic range of 90dB (sensor dependent). The frequency range is 10kHz to 40GHz for RF power measurements, and 10Hz to 1.2GHz for voltage measurement (optional). Supported measurement units are dBm, W, dBr, and V (optional). The measurement speed of the 4240 series is 200/100 (4241/4242) readings per second.
The available SCPI control package or LabVIEW drivers for both the 4241 and 4242 allow for easy integration of these meters into ATE systems. In addition, the 4240 series emulates the HP437, HP438, and Boonton 4220A/4230A meters.
Of course, the Boonton 4241 and 4242 meters can be remotely controlled via standard RS-232 or EEE-488.
