Rapid developments in autonomous vehicles and the demand for enhanced safety features are fueling the need for sensitive and accurate automotive radar technology. Leveraging its expertise in radar testing technology, Keysight now offers a new Radar Target Simulator (RTS) to help automotive electronics manufacturers confidently and realistically simulate radar targets in various scenarios.
Keysight's new RTS performs multi-target, multi-angle testing of radar modules in a laboratory environment. The solution delivers reliable, accurate, and fast results that balance quality and productivity. Design and verification engineers can quickly validate radar product performance, while manufacturing and design validation engineers can simulate multiple targets at varying distances. By allowing users to bring a real-world testing environment into their lab, Keysight's RTS solution provides significant time and cost savings.
“On the path to autonomous driving, radar module design is not a luxury feature, it’s a requirement. The accuracy of these devices cannot be compromised,” said Thomas Goetzl, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Automotive and Energy Solutions business unit. “Keysight has leveraged technology from our extensive RF design expertise to provide a multi-target remote head that enables radar module developers to overcome design and performance verification challenges.”
Addressing the Standards Governing Automotive Ethernet:
Next-generation ADAS systems require high-resolution camera and radar systems, which in turn demand higher speeds and bandwidth. Automotive Ethernet delivers faster data communication to meet the demands of today's vehicles and the connected vehicles of the future. However, the channel or link within a system can create a single point of failure and therefore must be thoroughly tested.
To address this growing challenge, Keysight has developed a new automotive Ethernet testing software solution to verify that information is transmitted to its destination without loss or interference.
Keysight's new automotive Ethernet software ensures signal quality requirements are met with conformance testing for the channel. It also performs measurements of return loss, insertion loss, mode conversion, power, and crosstalk within a cable and bundle. Incorporated into functional, general-purpose hardware – Keysight E5080B ENA Vector Network Analyzer, Keysight PXI Vector Network Analyzers, or Keysight Streamline Series USB Vector Network Analyzers – which are also valuable tools in any design verification and validation lab beyond automotive Ethernet.
Key features of the new Keysight solution for automotive Ethernet channel testing software:
• Creation of a test plan that includes all tests required according to the specification.
• Automatic configuration of the network analyzer for each measurement and application of limits.
• Creation of detailed reports for each test performed.
provide Keysight's Automotive Ethernet solutions the hardware, software, cabling, and accessories needed for compliance testing. This is further enhanced by the new receiver testing software and updated transmitter compliance application, which offers four different data rates, including the preview of IEEE 802.3ch Multi-Gig, all within a single application – making Keysight the first to offer IEEE 802.3ch compliance testing.
