The 60-90 GHz MA2808A combines high performance with the highest sensitivity, with a wide measurement range in an easy-to-use configuration, to enable millimeter wave measurements that traditional harmonic mixer and down-converter methods have been unable to achieve.
Millimeter-wave technology is currently used in a range of broadband wireless applications, but this new version will be particularly welcome in the automotive radar and wireless backhaul provider sectors. High-resolution collision avoidance radars for automobiles use 77/79 GHz to detect objects such as pedestrians, making millimeter-wave measurement capability vital. Previous measurement methods suffered from significant conversion losses, as well as the appearance of nonexistent or ghost signals (image responses), problems now addressed by the MA2808A. To meet the need for faster, higher-capacity communications, wireless backhaul providers are looking to connect an increasing number of small cellular base stations to core networks, using E-band signals from 60 to 90 GHz. The stringent specifications on spectrum emissions in these bands require very high-performance measurement equipment with large bandwidth and the best possible sensitivity.
The combination of the newly released MA2808A with the MS2830A in 26.5/43GHz configurations (MS2830A-044/045) will support the development and production of wireless backhaul equipment in the E-band and in the FMCW automotive radar industry. The MS2830A signal analyzer/spectrum analyzer is a precision instrument for the development and manufacturing of various wireless communication equipment and devices. With the addition of the new, user-friendly, easy-to-configure, and highly sensitive high-performance MA2808A waveguide mixer, Anritsu has finally solved the problem of accurately measuring broadband millimeter-wave wireless signals.
