The MA24105A enables highly accurate measurements of medium power. Its wide dynamic range eliminates the need for lower-power sensors, thus reducing setup and measurement times. Accuracy is ensured by storing calibration data directly on the sensor, and all necessary corrections are performed within the sensor's microprocessor. Furthermore, return loss and directivity are optimized to maintain high precision.
The MA24105A's dual-path architecture enables true RMS measurements across the entire frequency range and, combined with its dynamic range, allows users to measure CW, multi-tone, and digitally modulated signals such as GSM/EDGE, CDMA/EV-DO, W-CDMA/HSPA+, WiMAX, and TD-SCDMA. One forward path includes a 4 MHz bandwidth channel with peak and comparator/integrator circuitry that adds measurement functions such as peak envelope power, crest factor, CCDF, and average burst power. A separate reverse-path sensing circuit adds reverse power measurement capabilities, including reflection coefficient, return loss, and VSWR. The presence of a microcontroller, along with signal conditioning circuitry, an A/D converter, and a power supply within the sensor, makes the MA24105A a complete miniature power meter.
