Vehicle-to-everything communication refers to a vehicle's communication system that enables information from sensors and other sources to travel over high-bandwidth, low-latency, and highly reliable links, paving the way for fully autonomous driving. C-V2X communicates with a mobile network to access cloud-based services, such as navigation and infotainment systems, and uses a direct link to connect vehicles to everything: each other (V2V), pedestrians (V2P), infrastructure (V2I), and the network (V2N).
One of the main challenges of C-V2X testing is keeping up with the latest standards. This requires a testing solution that is always updated to reflect the evolving requirements of C-V2X, including future versions that incorporate the 5G New Radio (5G NR) service.
Tracking the Evolving C-V2X Standard:
Keysight's C-V2X toolset is the only solution capable of tracking the evolving C-V2X standard across radio frequency, protocol, and application layer testing. Its future-proof 5G NR V2X platform, based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 16 specifications, protects investments and accelerates the deployment of new technologies to enable advanced security features.
Keysight's C-V2X toolkit offers customers:
• Compliance with 3GPP Release 14 specifications
• An intuitive user interface to simplify C-V2X measurements (protocol and radio frequency)
• A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) emulator to generate signals that provide realistic GNSS
• A 5G NR measurement platform that protects upfront investments and accelerates the deployment of new technologies that will enable advanced security features
• A foundation for C-V2X compliance testing
“Advanced wireless technologies based on 5G and LTE are the fundamental technological building blocks for making autonomous driving a reality,” said Siegfried Gross, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Energy and Automotive Solutions business unit. “Keysight has leveraged the widespread adoption of our 5G-compatible wireless platform and collaborations with chipset developers and companies that are rapid adopters of the new technology to deliver a comprehensive offering that enables C-V2X developers to overcome design and performance verification challenges as they move toward autonomous driving.”.
How to address the standards governing Ethernet for automotive applications:
Keysight is dedicated to creating comprehensive solutions for automotive Ethernet, offering solutions that enable compliance testing of receivers, cabling, connectors, and transmitters. With the introduction of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) testing application, Keysight covers the four standards governing the automotive Ethernet platform: BroadR-Reach, IEEE 100BASE-T1, IEEE 1000BASE-T1, and the OPEN Alliance ECU specifications (One-Pair Ether-Net). The new software covers common-mode emissions, conversion loss, and medium-dependent interface (MDI) testing as defined by the OPEN Alliance TC8 ECU testing specification for automotive Ethernet.
Keysight mitigates safety risks and improves performance.
Keysight offers automotive designers and manufacturers the latest innovations in design and testing solutions to help them create high-quality, high-performance products while reducing safety risks. For example, Keysight’s new E8740A automotive radar signal generation and analysis solution enables radar-based advanced driver assistance systems to proactively detect and mitigate potential collision risks. Keysight uses this solution in its automotive customer centers to generate various real-world scenarios and resolve any potential radar interference issues.
In addition, Keysight provides e-mobility solutions that deliver improved battery performance and electric powertrain performance. These solutions also ensure the availability of efficient charging stations and improved power conversion across the entire e-mobility ecosystem to increase the range of hybrid and electric vehicles.
