avionics-ramp-tester-wThe Universal Access Transceiver (UAT) uses a data link that supports ADS-B, as well as TIS-B and FIS-B as part of the new NEXTGEN regulations. ADS-B transmits the aircraft ID, altitude, operational position both on the ground and in flight, and situational details to the cockpit. TIS-B is a traffic information system, and FIS-B provides flight information, including weather and terminal information.
All of this helps pilots fly more safely and save costs. These UATs will also be installed on ground support equipment (fuel trucks, emergency equipment, etc.), and their verification will also be required.
IFR6000 will allow the independent verification of each UAT function:
• Simulation of TIS-B, FIS-B, and ADS-B positional data.
• Reception, capture, and decoding of ADS-B transmissions from the UATs on board the aircraft.
• Display of the ICAO AA address, LAT/LONG of the transmitting aircraft.
• Ability to generate up to 5 intruders (Position, ID, heading, and distance are adjustable)
