Based on the company's fifth-generation smart lock technology, the system is aimed at both newly built homes and existing doors with compatible electromechanical locks.

The device is now available in Europe for door manufacturers, authorized professional installers and the Nuki online store.

Unlike conventional Nuki Smart Locks, which are visibly installed on the inside of the door, the Smart Module remains hidden and directly controls the electromechanical mechanism. Furthermore, it uses a constant power supply, so there's no need to change or recharge batteries.

The system retains standard Nuki features such as Auto Unlock, remote access, and permission management via mobile phone. It also supports accessories like Keypads, which allow unlocking via NFC, fingerprint, or PIN code, depending on the model.

Thanks to its compatibility with Matter, Smart Module can be integrated with smart home platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.

Integration into new doors and collaboration with REHAU

Nuki seeks to expand its presence in the construction sector through agreements with door manufacturers.

Among its collaborators is REHAU Window Solutions, with whom it works to integrate Smart Module directly into production lines without the need to modify existing manufacturing processes.

According to Nuki's market estimates, only 4% of European households currently use a digital key. However, the company anticipates that the new-build smart door segment will quadruple, exceeding one million units annually by 2036.

Installation in existing homes by professionals

Smart Module can also be retrofitted to doors that already have compatible electromechanical locks. For this purpose, the system can be installed in a standard flush-mount box, keeping the control components concealed.
Retrofitting is carried out through Nuki Pro Partners, a network of certified professionals including electricians, carpenters, and systems integrators.

Keypad 2 NFC incorporates tamper and theft detection

Along with Smart Module, Nuki has introduced a limited-edition white version of the Keypad 2 NFC, designed for light-colored entrances and facades. The company has also added a new tamper and theft detection feature to the Keypad 2 NFC models.

Using a sensor integrated into the battery compartment, the keypad can detect movement or attempts to remove the device. When this function is activated, the user receives a notification, and the incident is recorded in the activity log. As a security measure, the system prevents unauthorized individuals from using the keypad to open the door, reset it, or link it to another Nuki device. If the movement was legitimate, the owner can regain access using fingerprint authentication or a passcode.

Availability and prices

The Nuki Smart Module is now available in Europe for 359 euros, both for factory integration and for later installation by authorized professionals.

The new tamper-sensitive battery compartment cover is also sold separately for users of the black Keypad 2 NFC, with a recommended price of 4.90 euros.
