DLink1However, despite the trend that positions Wireless N technology as the de facto wireless standard, many companies still have networks based on previous standards, mainly due to the cost of migrating to Wireless N.

In response to this challenge, D-Link today announced its new Centralized Wireless solution, comprised of the DWC-1000 wireless controller and the following unified access points: DWL-3600AP, DWL-6600AP, and the existing DWL-8600AP. These new solutions will help businesses easily deploy, manage, and secure a comprehensive, high-performance wireless network across multiple locations and offices using Wireless N technology, all in a centralized manner.

The DWC-1000 controller is designed for both SMEs and branch offices or retail chains. Its function is to centrally manage and control up to six Access Points, with the possibility of expanding to 24 through additional licenses. It also allows for the creation of a cluster of up to four of these controllers to manage up to 96 Access Points in a unified manner. This means that businesses have a network solution that can grow as their needs increase and can be managed from a single, central point. The DWC-1000 controller allows network administrators to manage and service the wireless network flexibly and centrally, reducing the workload of managing each access point individually and enabling the replication of a single configuration across all necessary units.

The D-Link DWC-1000 offers businesses and organizations a balanced investment alternative to unified switching solutions, providing easy remote management of wireless parameters, such as changing encryption keys and passwords. This enables fast roaming between access points (improving the quality of applications like VoIP) and provides automatic channel adjustment without the need to reconfigure each access point individually. As new access points are added, the DWC-1000 can automatically detect them and reconfigure channel assignments, saving administrators the task of manual channel allocation.

DLink2“D-Link has a heritage of global leadership in the unified switching market, and we are proud to apply this expertise to the wireless sector, offering businesses a more cost-effective and simpler way to centrally manage their wireless networks. With the new DWC-1000 controller, companies can easily and flexibly expand their network and add Access Points as their needs grow, while also ensuring maximum security,” says Antonio Navarro, Marketing and Sales Director of D-Link Iberia.

Complementing the Controller, D-Link presents a complete range of next-generation Unified Access Points, such as the DWL-3600AP, DWL-6600AP, and DWL-8600AP. These Access Points can operate as standalone units or be centrally managed by the DWC-1000. All three models are PoE (Power over Ethernet) and support Wireless N technology. For businesses requiring high-bandwidth services or critical traffic management, such as video streaming, video conferencing, or VoIP, both the DWL-6600 and DWL-8600 are Quadband, providing the highest possible prioritization and quality for these types of applications by operating simultaneously on both frequency bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz) to deliver throughputs of up to 600Mbps.

“The launch of these solutions reinforces D-Link’s position as the clear leader in enterprise Wireless N technology. It’s another step that complements our existing Wireless Switching solutions and provides our customers with a new alternative to meet any need or project they may have with D-Link,” concludes Antonio Navarro.
