The cooler, available in 3 kW and 6.5 kW power categories, is ideal for small IT applications. This solution was developed for installation in Rittal TS IT racks and the Micro Data Center (MDC).

With the new LCU DX cooler, Rittal offers an additional solution in the sub-10 kW segment for cooling TS IT and MDC racks. The new LCU DX cooler operates with an externally mounted condenser, resulting in no heat or noise emissions into the server room. This solution completes Rittal's portfolio of IT cooling solutions in the small and medium power range.

The LCU DX solution consists of an indoor unit with speed-regulated EC fans (brushless DC EC motor) for rack mounting, and an external inverter compressor. The indoor unit is mounted laterally within an 800 mm wide TS IT server rack or in the Micro Data Center Level E or B. Cooling is based on the classic "front-to-back" design of IT components: cool air is blown in front of the unit and drawn in by the fans at the rear.

The cooler maintains a constant temperature for the incoming cold air to the servers using an inverter-controlled compressor. As an advantage, the constant adjustment of cooling capacity to the heat dissipated in the rack optimizes energy consumption, resulting in lower operating costs. The setpoint is easily managed from the control panels located on the back of the rack.

The new LCU DX chiller is available in 3 kW and 6.5 kW capacities, respectively, and also in redundant versions. This solution is designed for maximum safety, equipped with two outdoor units and one indoor unit. The indoor unit incorporates a heat exchanger with two refrigerant circuits, two electrical connections, and two separate controllers. Automatic switching between fault and operating modes increases safety in IT environments that must be continuously operational. The system transmits any alarm and status signals to Rittal's CMC III monitoring solution.
