A permanent spring load in the internal mechanism, combined with two positive end positions, ensures a secure and audible lock. Operation is simple: with a 90-degree turn, the locking latch engages behind the door frame, inside the cabinet, thus locking the door or hatch. The vibration-resistant quarter-turn lock offers the same protection as a classic safety quarter-turn lock while being more convenient to use. Due to the simpler locking mechanism, this new locking solution is also the most economical option.
They reliably meet all safety requirements against vibration and shock according to DIN EN 61373. The stainless steel version also meets the requirements of the fire protection standard DIN EN 45545-3 with an E60 rating and is therefore suitable for use on railway vehicles. Furthermore, the locking solution meets all requirements for use in rugged and mobile outdoor applications, such as in the railway sector, as well as on road vehicles or agricultural machinery according to protection class IP66. The internal electronic components are therefore reliably protected against dust and water during steam and high-pressure cleaning.
Currently, an upgrade to the higher IP69K sealing rating is being sought. The vibration-resistant quarter-turn fitting is available in both die-cast zinc and stainless steel, and comes in two surface finishes and several insert options.
