With the increasing diversity of technologies for automated production, however, it's not just electrical and pneumatic cables that need to be guided, but also tubes for bolts, rivets, and screws. Since tubes are not compatible with tight bend radii, a retraction system is required to supply power to the robot. That's why igus has now developed the new low-cost retraction system TR.RSEL for its cable carriers, which ensures the chain remains as compact as possible on the robot. The system prevents the cable carriers from dangling and hindering or blocking the robot's movements, even in highly dynamic applications.

The standard size and compact design of this system allow it to be mounted directly on the third axis of most common robots. This means that all triflex R series, such as TRC, TRE, and TRCF, can be easily and quickly retrofitted. The fixed terminal of the cable carrier chain can be freely selected. It also offers another advantage: by using the linear retraction system, the user saves on costs associated with additional cable length, as there is no need to reroute the wiring. The triflex RSEL system supplied by igus is available with a two-band elastomer variant in size 70 or 85.
