Molex, LLC has introduced its Temp-Flex® Multicore cable, a customizable hybrid cable with multiple conductors. Based on Temp-Flex technology and Molex's core competencies, the cable combines fine wire, coaxial, twinaxial, triaxial, and twisted-pair cables, as well as rugged and conduit products, into a single, highly flexible cable solution.

Thanks to its multifunctional design, combined with a high-performance construction, the Temp-Flex Multicore cable is able to meet signal and power requirements in harsh environments and critical conditions.

Commercial applications for Temp-Flex Multicore cables include audio/video systems, entertainment (including aircraft in-flight entertainment), and instrumentation, while medical applications include diagnostic, imaging, and surgical equipment. The cables are also ideal for aerospace and military applications such as control centers, instrumentation, vehicles, radar, satellites, and vision systems.

Temp-Flex Multicore cables are sheathed with materials such as ETFE, FEP, PFA, THV, PVDF, and polyurethane. Operating temperatures depend on the sheathing material: FEP is specified for the range of -65°C to 300°C, and polyurethane for -30°C to 75°C. Sheathings made from a new blended material are available that can withstand operating temperatures up to 300°C.
