Designed for use in environments with vibration, shock, and harsh conditions, as well as in unpressurized, high-altitude aerospace with aggressive voltage ratings and high-altitude immersion standards, the 806 Series connectors incorporate numerous mechanical design innovations, such as durable mechanical retention of inserts, radial seals, and triple-break eyelets. Reduced thread pitch and a redesigned locking mechanism prevent disconnection issues, addressing a major problem with MIL-DTL-38999 Series III size 9 and 11 connectors.
Glenair Series 806 Mil-Aero connectors feature 22HD and 20HD size contacts, as well as size 8 and high-speed El Ochito®, quadrax, and fiber optic power options. These devices offer up to twice the number of contacts without compromising performance. Independent lab testing has demonstrated that the connectors meet, and in many cases exceed, the requirements of MIL-DTL-38999. A top hat insulator with raised protrusions ensures foolproof alignment of the insulator cavities. A radial interface sealing design using an O-ring instead of a flat gasket allows for easier metal-to-metal mating, improved sealing, and better EMI performance.
