The system has undergone immersion testing with various fluids, demonstrating that it far exceeds the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) IP67 sealing requirements for sealed connectors. The MX150L connectors support low-level signal applications and power systems up to 40 A. Customers can choose from wire-to-wire, wire-to-panel, and wire-to-board configurations, as well as a wide variety of wire types and insulation thicknesses, providing maximum design flexibility.
The MX150L connectors are based on 1.50 mm and 2.50 mm blade terminals, eliminating the need to purchase, handle, and crimp gaskets for individual wires and reducing labor costs. The matte gasket design is a simple silicone-based closure with openings for individual wires and a locking cap that securely holds and protects the crimped assembly. The integrated Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) provides a secondary lock to hold the terminals firmly in position, and the optional Connector Position Assurance (CPA) prevents accidental disconnection. Completing the application is as easy as crimping the appropriate terminal, inserting the crimped terminal, and securing the TPA in its final position—no additional components are required. Audible and tactile clicks during insertion, extraction, and mating operations facilitate reliable connections and easy terminal loading and removal.
Tooling includes FineAdjust™ crimping press applicators for mass production, as well as hand tools for small-batch production and on-site repairs.
Although MX150L connectors exceed IP67 protection ratings and comply with UL 1977, they are not designed for automotive applications with requirements such as USCAR-2, USCAR-25, GMW3191, AK Testing, J2030, Volvo's technology requirements, and the Toyota Connector Specification (TCS).
