The Micro-Lock connectors with positive locking and a 2.00 mm pitch feature a low profile of only 6.00 mm and a "crash-free" design to prevent damage to the header pins during connector mating.
Rated at 3.0 A and available in versions with 4 to 15 circuits, the Micro-Lock connector system features a through-hole design. The bellows-shaped terminal and round-headed pin enable lower insertion and removal forces, a key requirement in many electronic products. Furthermore, the bellows terminal design ensures more reliable electrical performance and a reduced pin angle compared to fork and U-shaped terminal designs.
Micro-Lock connectors include protective tabs and retainers that guide the housing onto the connector head and prevent contact with the pin until the housing is aligned. This ensures a secure fit without risk of damage. The wide mating closure with a two-point positive locking mechanism ensures a firm connection and protects the connector head pins from damage, which can result in signal degradation or interference.
Made from a low-halogen, environmentally friendly material, the through-hole design is the first version in a series of Molex Micro-Lock connectors that will soon expand its functionality to include vertical and double-row versions, as well as surface mount (SMT) versions.
