The first-of-its-kind environmentally resistant BNC connector maximizes signal integrity, quality, performance, and durability by preventing moisture from entering the front and back of the connector and restricting movement of the BNC head. Designed specifically for Belden's Brilliance family of professional and broadcast audio and video coaxial cables, the new one-piece HD Brilliance connector incorporates a patent-pending screw-lock design that physically secures the BNC connector's bayonet nut in place. This offers several advantages for overall cable performance and ease of installation in a female BNC port or with Belden's BNC terminator.
The screw-lock collar limits movement of the BNC head, creating coaxial alignment from the cable through the connector's center pin, enabling superior electrical signal performance. The resulting improved return loss performance across 4.5 GHz exceeds the SMPTE return loss specification and supports higher resolution, improved signal integrity, and excellent headroom. Combining the connector with Belden's recommended Brilliance coaxial cable achieves 75-ohm performance.
In addition to the locking mechanism, the bayonet nut base of the connector incorporates additional sealing rings (O-rings) that create a watertight seal. This prevents moisture from entering the nut at the front of the BNC connector, while at the rear, this is achieved through TRUE 360° double bubble compression.
The one-piece, watertight connector design simplifies and speeds up installation, as it eliminates the need for separate pin, collar, and connector components.
Combined with the connector's excellent pull-out resistance, this feature increases durability for frequent and repeated installations. A knurled nut design on the BNC connector head facilitates easy use and identification.
