To meet this demand, Tyco Electronics (TE) has introduced one of the smallest Pico switching coaxial connectors on the market. The product measures 2 x 2 x 0.9 mm with a 0.4 mm self-alignment.

TE's miniature Pico switching coaxial connector allows for integration into smaller mobile devices. To facilitate automated testing, the connector also incorporates a relatively large self-alignment, providing greater tolerance for test probe positioning.

RF (radio frequency) coaxial connectors with integrated switches are frequently used for precise testing of a mobile device's audio output. When a test probe is inserted into the top of the connector, the antenna path is diverted from the mobile device's internal antenna to the test probe, enabling accurate testing of the mobile device's signal.
