The MU-D1-R operates in the ISM band (902 to 928 MHz) in the USA. Designed for integration into equipment, this radio modem has been developed for industrial applications requiring stable and secure transmissions. Its low power consumption allows it to operate on battery power for communications over distances exceeding 300 meters.
In addition to utilizing Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) with high noise suppression, the modem features a True Diversity receiving function with two receiver circuits to prevent signal loss due to multipath fatigue. This ensures highly stable and secure radio communication in the congested ISM band (902 to 928 MHz), which is used by a wide variety of transmitters. With 20 channels, it can be used in various radio systems. The modem operates at low power consumption (55 mA / 5 mW transmit and 58 mA receive) and its small size (36 x 26 x 8 mm) allows it to be integrated into battery-powered systems and equipment.
In addition to the CDP series transmitters and receivers and the STD/LMD series transceivers, which are highly regarded in the Japanese and European markets, Circuit Design offers the MU series of radio modems with a wireless protocol that enables data input and output via simple commands. Integrating a CPU, the MU series performs dedicated high-frequency wireless control via UART communication with an external microcontroller. This results in extremely short development times and a reduced number of components. Furthermore, the integrated protocol allows for the creation of simple communication networks, making it suitable for applications requiring reliability and real-time control, such as industrial remote control. It is expected to be used in a wide variety of industrial applications, such as monitoring systems, that require battery power.
MU-D1-R Features:
- UART interface control using specific commands. The UART interface is used by the user interface. Data transmission and reception, as well as changing and adjusting communication parameters and ID links, are possible with dedicated 2-character commands.
- High reliability for use in industrial environments. Direct sequence spread spectrum for improved noise resistance: 15 chips. Instead of a simple switched antenna, the modem uses a True Diversity receiver with two receiver circuits. Extended operating range (-20 to +65 °C) via integrated TCXO. All high-frequency circuits are protected by a metal housing.
- Low-power operation. Low-power system that can operate on batteries (55 mA transmit, 58 mA receive).
