Quantum computers are considered a key technology for future scientific and industrial advancements. However, the operation of these systems requires interconnection solutions that function reliably under extreme conditions, especially at temperatures near absolute zero. Rosenberger offers a comprehensive range, from RF connectors for cryogenic applications, non-magnetic coaxial connectors, and superconducting cables to airtight vacuum bulkheads.
“Our solutions guarantee stable and highly reliable connectivity in a compact installation space. In this way, we make a significant contribution to the development of future quantum technologies,” explains Florian Reiner, Product Manager for Semicon & Test at Rosenberger.

Technical features of the new WSMP® multichannel series
Based on the WSMP® standard (IEC 61169-69 (SMP3)), the new multichannel connectors are designed to offer maximum packing density and optimal thermal coupling. They have been specially developed for use in quantum computers, where hundreds of signal channels must be routed in a compact, vacuum-tight, and thermally coupled manner.
Advantages at a glance:
Extremely compact design for space-saving integration
Thermally optimized intermediate mounting for cryostats
Compatibility with ceramic attenuators for noise suppression
Non-magnetic materials to minimize electromagnetic interference
Cable assemblies (including stainless steel, cupronickel, and niobium-titanium)
Flexible range for scalable quantum systems
The WSMP® multichannel series is part of a modular and holistic solutions platform. Rosenberger offers both standard components and highly customized solutions to support scalable quantum system architectures:
Standard Products:
PCB connectors and cables,
airtight bulkheads
, semi-rigid/semi-flexible cables, adapters, attenuators.
Customized Components:
Airtight adapter flanges: single to multi-channel with glass and metal gaskets made of Kovar, leakage rates ≤ 10⁻⁸ mbar·l/s, 100% leak tested.
Complete subsystems, such as coaxial bars, sample disks, or RF components for dilution cooler configurations.

Rosenberger collaborates closely with leading research institutions and industrial partners to bridge the gap between laboratory-scale quantum research and practical applications. Initial projects are already underway with universities, startups, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
“With the WSMP® multichannel series, we are closing a crucial gap in the connectivity landscape for quantum computing,” says Stefan Brenner, Sales Director at Rosenberger. “Our customers are increasingly demanding compact, thermally optimized, and sealed solutions, and that is precisely what this new platform offers.”
