CABLEIE1The new IP67 molded splice cable is based on components incorporating STEADYTEC® technology and is designed for applications requiring up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Its innovative molding technique ensures reliable tamper and bend protection, as well as excellent resistance to pulling and bending. The robust mechanical interface is a particularly noteworthy feature of this IP67 connector. Each component meets PROFINET specifications and is compliant with IEC 61076-3-117, variant 14. Furthermore, thanks to STEADYTEC® technology, the compact PushPull connector provides reliable shielding. These pre-assembled PROFINET splice cables are suitable for use with molded Cat. 5 (Type C) cable pull chains, corresponding to Cat. 5 (ISO/IEC 11801) / Cat. 5e (TIA 568-B) categories.

PROFINET specifications require PushPull variant 14 connectors for IP67 network installations. Weidmüller's corresponding splice cables are robust and specifically designed for industrial environments. These new molded IP67 splice cables are based on components incorporating STEADYTEC® technology and are intended for applications requiring up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Thanks to the innovative molding technique, the IE cables have proven their high performance, offering protection against tampering and bending, as well as a high level of pull resistance. The IP67 protection rating is a particularly noteworthy feature of the robust mechanical interface. The components meet PROFINET specifications and comply with IEC 61076-3-117, variant 14. Thanks to STEADYTEC® technology, these compact PushPull connectors offer reliable shielding (SF/UTP).

These pre-assembled PROFINET splice cables are suitable for molded drag chains (Type C) Cat. 5 and correspond to Cat. 5 (ISO/IEC 11801) / Cat. 5e (TIA 568-B) categories. The conductor cross-section is 4 x AWG 22/7 – 0.36 mm², the maximum sheath diameter is 6.7 mm (sheath material is PUR), and the maximum core insulation diameter is 1.6 mm. The splice cable is designed to withstand 3 million bending cycles at a speed of 180 m/mm, an acceleration of 4 m/s², and a pull-out force of ≤ 150 N.

The ambient operating temperature is -40°C to +70°C, and the installation temperature is -20°C to +60°C. The IE cable for PROFINET offers excellent abrasion resistance, is flame retardant according to IEC 60332-1, and oil resistant according to IEC 60811-2-1. IE cables for PROFINET are supplied from the factory in the following lengths: 1 m, 2 m, 3 m, 5 m, and 10 m.

CABLEIE2Weidmüller's offering is complemented by a range of PROFINET accessories, including the AM 12 cable stripper (for UTP and STP data cables) and the IE-CST stripper (for coaxial and round data cables), as well as a wide variety of marking tools for electrical equipment, including embeddable labels, transparent sleeves, and cable markers. For transmitting electrical signals and data in automotive engineering applications according to AIDA specifications (*), Weidmüller offers a simple installation system that complies with PROFINET wiring guidelines. The installation system can utilize both copper and fiber optic cable technology and includes active and passive components, as well as the necessary tools.

With the multifunctional “HTX-IE POF” tool for stripping insulation, crimping, and cutting POF (plastic optical fiber) cables, it is possible to quickly, reliably, and easily prepare and terminate IP20 and IP67 fiber optic connectors. There is no need for subsequent polishing of the cut surfaces, a time-consuming task.
