The eight universal inputs are compatible with temperature sensors with 0-10V interfaces, as well as meters. The two universal channels and four digital channels can be configured as outputs or inputs, and an optional plug-in touchscreen provides assistance during local priority operation, commissioning, and maintenance, as well as secure access to the controller. These controllers utilize Phoenix Contact's Emalytics software based on the Niagara 4 Framework.

This software integrates the controller into building management systems using BACnet, KNX, Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, and other communication protocols. These controllers feature a managed Ethernet switch with three Ethernet interfaces, two RS-485 serial ports, and two USB Type-C® ports for connecting a control panel and USB peripherals. It is also the first Niagara controller to offer a KNX-TP interface, with two SPE interfaces for multiple Catan expansion modules. These automation controllers simplify the intelligent automation of rooms in hospitals, data centers, and commercial building applications.
