HMS, distributed in Spain by ER-SOFT, introduces a significant improvement to the Anybus-X gateway family, with the launch of 10 new CANopen Master or Slave gateways on one communication interface and, on the other side, the option to choose from 10 different fieldbuses. This is a completely new, powerful design with a compact physical footprint

These new CANopen gateways allow any device with CANopen slave functionality to communicate with virtually any other fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network.

The gateway series includes versions for all popular fieldbuses, such as Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus, ControlNet, and Industrial Ethernet with Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, and Modbus-TCP, including 2-port switch technology for daisy-chaining Ethernet connections (to save on industrial Ethernet switches).

Typical applications include integrating CANopen-based devices into higher-level fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network systems that form the core architecture of an installation. The Anybus-X gateway for CANopen is specifically designed for use in machinery and is particularly suited for manufacturers in the machine building, transportation, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, and all types of power distribution and control applications, including renewable energy.

Typical applications include communication between control equipment (PLCs, DCS), such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Beckhoff, and ABB PLCs, and devices like variable frequency drives, sensors, actuators, or measuring equipment with a CANopen interface.

Anybus-X products combine simplicity and ease of use with the required industrial robustness, making communication across different types of industrial networks easy and reliable. The gateways are easily integrated into any type of industrial automation system, ensuring transparent information flow between CANopen fieldbuses and other fieldbuses or Industrial Ethernet networks. The combination of high reliability and flexibility makes Anybus-X gateways essential connectivity components for system integrators and maintenance personnel in industrial plants and factories.
The upstream fieldbus link or Industrial Ethernet slave is configured using a standard device description file (GSD/EDS) and the standard PLC configuration tool. No programming is required. Input/output data is communicated transparently through the gateway between the two Fieldbus/Ethernet networks using PDOs in CANopen.

Any standard CANopen tool can be used to configure the master CANopen interface. The Anybus-X CANopen is supplied with a CANopen configuration tool included in the gateway price.
