KNX Interface Features:
• Supports KNX twisted pair media
• Transmission speed: 9,600 bps
• Supports DPT 1.X, DPT 5.X, DPT 6.x, DPT 7.x, DPT 8.x, DPT 9.X, DPT 12.x, DPT 13.x, DPT 14.x, DPT 20.x (different types of KNX data).
Modbus RTU slaves are connected to the gateway's serial port, while Modbus TCP devices are connected to the Ethernet port. On the KNX side, the gateway simulates a KNX device and acts as just another device in the KNX system. To integrate the gateway, you will need to create a configuration project using Anybus's easy-to-use and powerful Configuration Manager (MAPS). You can then perform commissioning and troubleshooting using this tool.
The gateway connects directly to the KNX TP-1 (EIB) bus and behaves like any other device in the KNX system, with the same configuration and operating characteristics as other KNX devices.
The gateway receives, manages, and sends all configuration-related telegrams to the KNX bus. Upon receiving telegrams from KNX groups associated with internal data points, the corresponding messages are sent to Modbus to keep both systems synchronized at all times.
When a change in an external system signal is detected, a telegram is sent to the KNX bus (of the associated KNX group) to keep both systems synchronized at all times.
The status of the KNX bus is continuously monitored. If a bus failure is detected (for example, due to a bus power supply failure), when the KNX bus is restored, the gateway will retransmit the status of all KNX groups marked as "T" Transmit.
