The product has been redesigned to include a protective all-metal housing and a reduced height of 1.35 mm. The improved card insertion and removal process provides a better user experience while maintaining excellent vibration and shock resistance.
GCT's Nano SIM connector accepts the fourth-format Nano SIM card. This form factor measures 12.3 mm (L) x 8.8 mm (W) x 0.67 mm (T) and maintains the existing SIM contact layout while reducing the size and insulation thickness compared to Micro SIM cards. Nano-SIM cards are approximately 15% thinner than Mini and Micro SIM cards, which are 0.76 mm thick.
The SIM8050 is a push-pull connector with 6 contacts and a height of 1.35 mm above the PCB. A metal housing measuring only 10.8 mm x 11.0 mm protects the Nano SIM card. The connector is rated for 5,000 insertion cycles. A card stop feature prevents orientation errors during insertion, while plastic pins and SMT pushers provide precise placement and retention force on the PCB.

Based on feedback from its customers, GCT introduces the redesigned SIM8050 Nano SIM connector, which at 10.8mm x 12.20mm has the smallest footprint of any push-pull connector on the market.
