Mini routers with OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) functionality can find the best route through the network. If the primary internet connection fails, the router uses OSPF to automatically establish an alternative route within the network. OSPF is a dynamic routing protocol that describes the status of links between data networks. A key feature of this protocol is its fast and dynamic response to changes in the network structure. This prevents data from being forced to "wait in a queue." The OSPF web guide reliably forwards data while providing the fastest and most efficient route to the destination address. The compact and highly sophisticated IE-ARM-E-OSPF (Ethernet) and IE-ARM-U-OSPF (RS232) mini routers are designed to meet the demands of improved hardware.


External modems (analog, ISDN, GSM) provide access to the routers worldwide. The routers are configured via a console connected to the RS-232 interface. The connection-oriented firewall ("Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall") provides maximum system security. A web browser is used for configuration. In addition, all mini-routers come with a CD containing the external management software for configuration. Other integrated services include DHCP and VPN servers.
