This new technology, designed for the Industry 4.0 era, supports high-speed connections to devices such as sensors, controllers, and data loggers; in applications ranging from industrial automation and process control to smart buildings, energy management, transportation, and electromobility.

There are five new routers offering wired or wireless cloud connectivity, with built-in security including firewall and VPN via OpenVPN and IPsec. The routers also support local or remote firmware configuration and updates, and include a daily auto-update feature. The EBW-E100 LAN-to-LAN router is ideal for decoupling production cells that are remotely accessible from an enterprise network and is easy to integrate with a VPN. The EBW-L100 4G/LTE router is ideal for applications requiring mobile broadband connectivity, such as video surveillance. The EBW-H100, with an integrated 3G modem, and the EBW-WH100, which supports both WLAN and 3G connectivity, complete the range of EBW routers available from RS.

The new IMO-1 and IMO-2 fault monitors connect to sensors, measuring devices, or controllers and automatically send SMS messages or emails via GPRS when certain thresholds are exceeded. The messages are configurable and can also contain the actual values recorded by digital and analog devices. In addition, the IMO-2 has Ethernet and Modbus gateways, while the IMO-1 has an additional port for connecting to Siemens LOGO!™ microcontrollers.

Also available is the IMO-1 KIT, which combines the IMO-1 fault detector with a magnetic base antenna and a Siemens LOGO! adapter cable, forming a convenient ready-to-use package.
