The new AWK-5222 is a rugged, industrial-grade Wireless Access Point/Bridge/Client (3 options in 1 device) that is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.11a/b/g standard. This device offers a wide range of wireless communication options and solutions for creating a robust wireless network for critical industrial applications.
For superior reliability, the AWK-5222 features two independent radio frequency modules, allowing for two completely separate wireless connections and faster recovery. These two independent RF modules not only enable the implementation of more topologies to suit different applications but also provide a flexible and highly reliable solution for industrial wireless network installations. Furthermore, it features Wireless Redundancy mode to increase the reliability of the entire wireless network, and Wireless Bridge mode optimizes WDS (Wireless Distribution System). The AWK-5222's AP Client mode can be used to provide internet access in areas where running cabling is costly or prohibited.
The AWK-5222 is also compatible with the IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard. This standard simplifies power delivery to outdoor areas or remote locations. It also features Turbo Roaming™, enabling access point hops of less than 100 ms, ideal for applications on board mobile platforms (trains or cars). A faster Basic Service Set (BSS) is also included, allowing for smoother and faster transitions between wireless networks. Furthermore, the AWK-5222 is equipped with two Ethernet ports that support RSTP or Turbo Ring™, adding an extra layer of stability to the entire network.
