“With the launch of the new EDR-G9010 series, Moxa is introducing a tailored network security solution for OT environments,” says Kevin Huang, product manager at Moxa Networking. “We recommend our customers use the EDR-G9010 series of secure industrial routers to segment their networks as a first line of defense and prevent threats from spreading to the rest of their network. In addition, users can take advantage of its OT technology, including deep packet inspection (DPI), firewall, NAT, and VPN, for multi-layered security. Finally, and equally important, the ten-port Gigabit performance, faster boot time, and Layer 2/Layer 3 redundancy help ensure the availability of industrial networks. The EDR-G9010 series combines all these powerful features into a single secure, compact, rugged, and industrial-certified industrial router. All in all, the EDR-G9010 series will be Moxa’s future-proof, secure routing platform, with additional capabilities to be added over time.”

Features:
Advanced Network Protection with Network Segmentation and Advanced DPI.
Within a site, the EDR-G9010 series of secure industrial routers can help establish security boundaries by segmenting IT and OT networks and features advanced DPI technology to give users more granular control over network traffic by filtering industrial protocols* based on application requirements. Moxa will continue to expand DPI protocol coverage. Starting with Modbus TCP/UDP and DNP3, Moxa will add protocols specifically relevant to the energy market in 2022.
If remote connections from multiple sites are needed, the EDR-G9010 series' embedded IPsec VPN secures industrial network communication channels when accessing private networks from the public internet.

The computing power of the EDR-G9010 platform enables it to run an intrusion prevention module that will securely block ransomware, malware, viruses, and any other cybersecurity threats on OT networks. This signature-based scanning technology will take traffic filtering and resource visibility on OT networks to a whole new level.
The license for this module is available upon request and will be released in mid-2022.

As the number of connected devices continues to grow, the EDR-G9010 series delivers high performance while providing robust security, making it ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications. Simultaneously, its faster boot time helps minimize system downtime during routine maintenance or emergency restoration.

The EDR-G9010 series meets the needs of various networks, whether for firewalls, network address translation (NAT), VPN remote communications, switching, or routing. These secure routers also hold IEC 61850-3/IEEE 1613, NEMA TS2, ATEX Zone 2, and Class I Division 2 certifications. The all-in-one design is affordable and versatile, making these devices ideal for securing industrial applications in power substations, intelligent transportation systems, oil and gas, and smart manufacturing.

Enhanced IEC-62443
Secure routers play a pivotal role in the security architecture and must have enhanced security. Therefore, the hardware and software of the EDR-G9010 have been developed using Moxa's certified IEC-62443-4-1 process and are ready to meet IEC-62443-4-2 requirements up to Security Level 2.
